Response for “Mother to Son”

Author's Note: I am writing this response to explain what my thoughts are on the poem.

                           

In the poem, I was wondering why Langston Hughes wrote the poem with a women talking. If Langston Hughes was a guy I think he should used a man. Someone else also thought about this too. I wonder if the author was using this to get a point or what. The tone of the poem sounded to me like it was in a honest tone. The language like crystal stair was one of them This was used as a metaphor to enhance the description of the point the mother was trying to get to the son. What the poem was talking about  was how life is hard.
