Like A Race Car

I am a car in a race track

I struggle to pass the other cars.

I’m like Nascar’s biggest loser.

And there is one  big shot who I struggle to get past.

She is almost to the finish line but not me.

But, when I catch up I fill the other racers

with sorrow. I put my foot on the gas.

And I fly through a giant racing stadium like I’m getting chased

with a bug swatter.

I’m so agile, no one can see me when

wind wafts through my face,

like wind blowing a leaf away.

This parody was wrote in reference to Bridge to Terabithia. It is about how a boy is cocky but has a hard time beating a girl in a race. The tone starts out upset then gets cocky. The mood is jealous and sarcastic. The speaker is Jess and the audience is Jess’s little sister.
